Original watercolor painting titled Kachina Maiden Kachina Doll by artist Joseph M. Leonard. The composition depicts a stylized Hopi Kachina maiden figure rendered in a clean, graphic format typical of mid-to-late 20th century Southwestern illustration. The figure is shown standing frontally wearing traditional ceremonial attire, including a decorated headdress, patterned garments, and symbolic colors associated with Kachina representations. Executed in watercolor on textured paper, the work combines delicate brushwork with fine ink detailing to create a carefully balanced composition emphasizing the cultural symbolism of the Kachina figure. The title Kachina Maiden Kachina Doll is handwritten below the image. Signed “Leonard” at lower left. Unframed.
