Antique hand-colored lithograph titled A Difficult Bunker, after the 1893 painting by British sporting artist Douglas Adams (1853–1920). Published in London in 1894 by Henry Graves & Co., the renowned Victorian firm known for producing high-quality prints after prominent British painters.
The scene depicts a golfer negotiating a bunker at Conwy (Caernarvonshire) Golf Club in North Wales, with the Carneddau mountains forming the dramatic backdrop. Adams specialized in sporting subjects, particularly golf, and his works remain of interest to collectors of early golf imagery and Victorian sporting art.
The image bears the printed facsimile signature “Douglas Adams 1893” within the plate. The lower margin carries the title A Difficult Bunker, along with the publication line referencing Henry Graves & Co., London, 1894, confirming period issue.
This example retains strong hand coloring and good visual presentation. The print has been mounted and framed at a later date and is housed in a decorative velvet-style mat and frame.
