Color lithograph titled The Gift by American artist William “Bill” Crite (1910–2007). This work depicts a stylized biblical scene of Moses in the reeds, rendered in Crite’s distinctive modernist style using bold color fields and simplified forms.
The print is hand-signed twice, with a gold ink signature within the image and a pencil signature along the lower margin. The title The Gift appears in pencil at lower center. The edition number 303/500 is written in pencil at lower left.
Crite was an important American painter and printmaker whose works often explored biblical narratives and scenes from everyday life within the African-American community. His work is represented in numerous museum collections and continues to attract collector interest.
