Pair of acid-etched metal wall panels after designs by Bernhard Rohne, produced by Metallic Design Studio of Metal Etching Ltd., North Vancouver, Canada. The panels depict stylized moonlit landscape scenes with trees, water, and a red moon rendered in oxidized coloration over raised etched metal surfaces.

One panel titled “Lakeside” retains the original studio label verso and is etched with Bernhard Rohne’s name and dated 1986. The second panel, “Cabin on the Creek,” is similarly produced and retains the Metallic Design studio label.

These works were created through a process in which a design is applied to a metal sheet and selectively etched with acid, leaving the imagery slightly raised. Chemical oxidation is then used to produce the distinctive coloration, followed by hand finishing and lacquer protection. Both examples remain framed as originally presented.

Largest panel approx. 16 in x 11.5 in
Second panel approx. 16" x 12" in

Condition

Light surface scratches visible to the metal surfaces. Frames with minor handling wear. Overall very good decorative condition.

Provenance
