Group of three vintage reference books relating to hunting, taxidermy, and fur processing. Titles include
Professional Guide’s Manual by George Leonard Herter and Jacques P. Herter (Herter’s Inc.),
Home Manufacture of Furs and Skins by Albert B. Farnham (A. R. Harding, Columbus, Ohio; copyright 1916), and
Records of North American Big Game issued by the Boone and Crockett Club.
These publications reflect practical instruction and historical record keeping associated with North American hunting culture, outdoor guiding, and early 20th-century fur trade practices. The Herter’s guide was widely used by outfitters and guides, while the Farnham book provides detailed instruction on tanning and preparing animal skins for garments and decorative use.
The Boone and Crockett Club volume includes an inscription dated June 4, 1957 reading “To Andy Runyon with sincere regards – Don DeHart.” Together the books offer a useful collection of vintage outdoor sporting references and historical hunting literature.
